This condo remodel was all about editing, opening, and elevating.

We began by replacing dated carpet with white oak luxury vinyl plank flooring, instantly warming the space and creating continuity throughout. The fireplace was refreshed with a dramatic coat of black paint, giving it a clean, modern focal point.

In the kitchen, the biggest transformation came from subtraction. We removed a divider wall that once separated the kitchen from the dining area and raised the dropped ceiling to restore height and light. New recessed lighting was added to brighten the space and enhance flow.

In place of the wall, we designed a custom island that anchors the room beautifully and functionally. Facing the kitchen, it includes spice pull-out storage and dedicated pots and pans cabinetry. On the dining side, open shelving offers book storage, while side-facing seating encourages conversation between the kitchen and dining table — making the space feel connected and social.

The lower cabinets were refinished and updated with new flat panel doors and modern hardware, while black quartz countertops add contrast and polish. Zellige tile was installed as a backsplash, bringing texture and subtle movement to the kitchen.

To keep the room feeling open and airy, upper cabinets were removed and replaced with custom floating shelves. A sheetrock hood enclosure was built to create a clean architectural attachment for the over-the-range microwave, blending functionality with intentional design.

Black stainless appliances, along with curated lighting and furnishings from CB2, complete the space — creating a condo that feels modern, cohesive, and thoughtfully refined.

A full transformation within the same footprint — proof that smart design and strong execution can completely redefine a home.
